Today, I’m excited to share ideas for a wine/whiskey card playing room! While it might seem niche, I love how these ideas exemplify the freedom to create anything you desire in your home – after all, it’s your retreat! Here you’ll find inspiration for this type of room both created by AI & around the web.

This past week on Instagram, I delved into how I discover perfect inspiration for home projects when Pinterest falls short. Sometimes, what’s in your head simply doesn’t manifest in search results when you’re seeking inspiration.

For instance, when envisioning a cabin kitchen with a log backsplash, soapstone counters, and a copper vent hood, I entered the criteria into Pinterest only to find a barren landscape.

I reached out to our followers, inviting them to share inspiration they’d like to see brought to life, allowing me to generate ideas with AI. I’m thrilled to assist people in finding fantastic room inspiration and aim to make this a weekly post. Feel free to comment on what you’d like to see next!

Here’s the first submission

 "I have an office with typical built in. Shelves floor to ceiling on both sides and desk with shelves in the middle. Want to turn office into a wine/ whiskey, card playing room. Would love wine storage, a wine refrigerator, storage for whiskey and stemware. Maybe incorporate a built in electric fireplace and frame TV in the room. Any suggestions?"

I asked her what she felt like her style was and see said traditional. From there I launched into Midjourney to generate create AI inspiration for her!

With AI the key is writing great prompts for it to create the image you’re needing to launch you into inspiration for your project. On each of this inspiration photos you’ll see the prompt I used to create them under the photos.

MOODY WINE ROOM INSPIRATION 1

In this room you have a moody and masculine with a feminine balance brought in with the brass finishes. I love the color which looks similar to Sherwin Williams Naval! You can see this color in action in real life (not AI 😉) in my friend KariAnne’s dining room.

This next room is pretty similar to the last but I loved the art light over the frame TV and the unique wine fridge in the built in. I’m not even sure they make wine fridges like this but if they do it’s a great look. Also these are really pretty curtains.

Here’s a fancier version! This isn’t a room everyone would have in their home, but I promise if you have a friend with this room in their home, you’d want to come over for a visit. This is a host’s dream. I envision the wine being collected over years, and each one has a story behind it. Someone make this room and invite me over!

In this image I really love the wood contrasting against the deep blue color of the built ins. The warmth adds the perfect pop!

This is a big more feminine version of the room concept. I think the velvet really softens the look. Also, the gal who sent the room request has a bay window so this might be helpful!

WINE LOUNGE BY STUDIO MCGEE

GOOD GRAVY! We’re not shocked the Shae McGee does it again. I love the pop of green with the velvet sofa. This has the perfect balance of masculine and feminine feel. The ladder against the built in’s and the railing on the top shelves are just a couple of details that make the room sing.

MOODY OFFICE BY BLOOMING IVY LANE

This room isn’t necessarily a wine lounge, but it does have the vibe of the room images we’ve generated. Stephanie of Blooming Ivy Lane is so insanely talented. This is one of my favorite rooms in her home but if you want to tour the entire Blooming Ivy Lane home follow the link.

Moody Living Room by House of Jade

This is also not a wine lounge but between the paint color, brass finishes and shelf styling, this room has the inspiration needed to create a dreamy room. This space was also featured in our dark and moody paint color round up!

Moody Eclectic Office

This room is out of the box and has a whiskey room feel with the plaid wallpaper. I also love the ceiling accents with the BOOKS on the ceiling. Bravo Haneen’s Haven!

It was so fun finding this inspiration. If you have a formal living room or home office that is getting no use, this wine/whiskey room is a great concept to give the room more use and enjoy it!
