Ways to Incorporate Arches Into Your Home – Architectural, Furniture & More

From mirrors and ceilings to entryways and fireplaces, the arch design trend is in full swing. Today we’re sharing inspiration on how to incorporate this trend into your own homes.

ARCHED NICHE IN ENTRY

Niches have come and gone and now they’re definitely back in style. This entry is the ultimate in style. What a beautiful way to frame the entryway and an interesting place to place a cozy bench. The shiplap and sconces are the perfect addition to the nook. It’s the perfect drop spot or place to put on your shoes! I’ve counted four arches in this one photo. Can you overdue arches. I don’t think so!

ARCHED NICHE COFFEE BAR

This arch carved out for a coffee bar adds interest to what might have been just an espresso machine on the countertop. Add in the fun element of wood shelves and some tile and now it’s over the top! Love this idea to give definition to your kitchen for a coffee or wine bar.

ARCHES IN THE KITCHEN

Again, we have this beautiful arch to serve as an alcove for the range. Its a great spin to a typical vent hood. This arch perfectly frames the tile backsplash and is the perfect way to add more interest. This is a chef’s kitchen. The arch is a more Spanish or Mediterranean style and drums up an appetite for this yummy cuisine!

ARCHED CABINETS

SOURCE: Joanna Gaines

Oh for the love of arched cabinets! The arch is a great way to distinguish a hutch or pantry in the kitchen. It offers a great way to break from painted cabinetry to wood or to offer a different color. This is one of my favorites by Joanna Gaines. She does it again with a beautiful built in to display all the homeowners dishes in this arched cabinet! And mirrors the arch in the doorways and pantry door. Arches from one side of the room to the other create a cohesive look throughout the space! We couldn’t love it more!

ARCHED DOORS

This arched doorway feels like you could be entering a home in Narnia. It draws you in with its rich character and whimsey. Add another arch leading to yet another and you are led by style! I love both an interior or exterior arched door to add a unique flair. This particular one with flanked with arched wood doors is just perfect!

ARCHED WINDOWS

SOURCE: @Apartment34

Arched windows are a true departure from a simple rectangle or square. I love the way these arches are framed out in a rectangular trim to create even more drama! And painting the trim black makes them really pop! Arched windows have trended in and out through time. So don’t change them if they don’t appear to be the latest trend. Just wait a while and they will be back in style! This shows a way to give dated windows a sophisticated update if you want to change an arched window up a bit! Also, consider replacing the window with a clear or even black frame or leaded glass to take give it some high-end style!

ARCHED WALL TREATMENT

SOURCE: @Our.Colonial.Casa

We saw homes with arched niches become very popular in the 90’s early 2000s. A slightly recessed arch in a wall can be a great wall accent as seen behind this bed. Wall treatments are very popular these days and what better use of an arch to make a statement!

SHOP ARCHED HOME ACCENTS

If you do have a place for arches in architecture we’ve rounded up accents to add this trend to your home. There are so many ways to incorporate the arch. Furniture pieces, like cabinet/hutches, beds, mirrors, buffets, lamps, and other accessories to name a few. The arch is a great way to add interest and style.

I hope you enjoyed this inspiration. This is one of our favorite interior design trends right now. It’s a trend but it’s also a detail that we believe adds character to your home in a timeless way so don’t be afraid to bring it in architecturally in a more permanent way. I’d love to know in the comments your thoughts on the trend. If you want more trend chats watch our 2022 home trend video on YouTube below.
