We could not be more excited to share this amazing home tour with you all today! Stephanie of @BloomingIvyLane shares her new build home with classic details that bring so much character and have you questioning the age of the home.

We toured Stephanie’s previous home in the past and when I learned she was building a new home I questioned if it could be possible for her to design something better. Not because I questioned her talent but because her last home was that incredible. I‘m here to say she did it y’all! This house is absolutely stunning and I’m confident it will take the internet by storm. You’re going to LOVE.

ENTRY

From the moment you enter the front door this stunning home draws you in! And that’s the feel Stephanie was going for; warm, inviting, cozy, and timeless. She wanted the home to make you wonder if it was a new build or many years old.

The floor plan’s main spaces dictated the large and long front entry! Stephanie found the old newel post in Round Top Antiques Show. It was stripped to seamlessly fit into the newly constructed rail. Picture panel molding in a creamy white is the perfect backdrop to many other found pieces, there are many treasures like this throughout the home.

LIVING ROOM

There is so much charm in the family room. The cozy stone fireplace is definitely the star of the show. And while this home has distinct rooms it feels like an open floor plan as you get a peek into the other spaces through the double-sided fireplace and large case openings.

There is a massive hutch on the wall opposite the fireplace that gives the room balance. The furnishings are casual and elegant! The rug is one of Stephanie’s favorite finds. The rug actually had to be cut down to fit in this space, but the cutting was put to good use in the upstairs sitting area. Not sure how you could do better than that!

HEARTH ROOM & DINING

On the other side of the fireplace is a comfy hearth room! Inset in the wall is a buffet Stephanie brought from her last home. It perfectly works as a built-in!

Adjacent to the hearth room is the dining area. The rooms were actually created to be reversible. The dining table would be beautiful in front of the fireplace, but Stephanie and her family have found the cozy seating to be a favorite place for the family to hang out when Stephenie is cooking dinner. So they may never trade spaces, but the possibility is there. The dining room banquet is not built in but was custom-made to fit perfectly along the wall of windows. The simplicity of this room allows the fun patterned textiles to shine!

KITCHEN

The kitchen is breathtaking. There is a warm European feel with the rich wood island. All the cabinets are recessed so the kitchen feels open and airy! The ceiling in the kitchen is the same as the ceiling throughout the main spaces. White shiplap with weathered wood beams. You would never know they were faux!

One of the best features is the library later. It services not only the kitchen but the butler’s pantry. And when it’s not in use it functions as a beautiful piece of art on the wall!

BUTLER’S PANTRY

The butler’s pantry is character overload! Warm wood windows frame the entrance. And the pop of floral print wallpaper adds so much whimsy! Brick floors, copper pots, a linen apron to tuck away more pieces for hosting, there’s something to see everywhere!

Just off the butler’s pantry are the mud room and the door that really functions as the main entrance for family and friends. The sweet built-ins flank a bench seat with wicker baskets beneath to keep things neat. The coat hooks are functional but of course, Stephanie has them perfectly styled too!

OFFICE

Just off the entry is the office. But more than an office, this room is a true and stately gentleman’s lounge. The walls were color matched to the kitchen range. The thread of this color runs from room to room. And the marble fireplace surround compliments the color perfectly! The vintage chandelier adds sophistication and a touch of whimsy. This room just feels like the spot for scotch and a cigar!

PRIMARY BEDROOM

The primary retreat is simple and full of charm. The headboard is actually made from an old quilt that Stephanie found at an estate sale.

On the TV wall, there are pictures connected by a chain to form an interesting gallery wall. And all suspended by the rod for the paneled curtains. This is the type of out-of-the-box design idea we love about this home. And they’re everywhere—Like the unconventional use of a farm table in the primary bedroom!

PRIMARY BATHROOM

The primary bath is light and bright and airy! A clawfoot tub is the centerpiece of the room. It’s surrounded and flanked by charming vanities and set up to capture the beautiful wooded view. Another large window lets in even more light and serves as a dressing table. A vintage mirror hangs in front of the window because there really are no rules! And it couldn’t be more perfect there!

LAUNDRY ROOM & WARDROBE

Next to the primary suite is a long narrow space that holds the laundry and Stephanie’s wardrobe, which she refers to as her closet. There is a set of pocket doors to shut off the rooms from each other. But the French-styled black and white patterned tile runs throughout to allow them to flow seamlessly. As does the pretty pink cabinets, which have a spot for everything! Folding tables pull out for the laundry. And large narrow drawers hold Stephanies jewelry! The stunning marble apron sink is a showstopper and the colorful wallpaper gives the space a pop!

Don’t worry the furry four-legged family members were considered too! Their room is just off this area and a doggy door leads to their private courtyard!

GIRLS ROOM

A couple of the kids are off to college but they will always have a room at home. The sweet girl’s room is on the main level and the boy’s rooms are upstairs.

The sweet touches of pale yellow wallpaper and light blue wainscoting add so much charm. As with every room in the house, the attention to detail is incredible. And the wet room in the on-suite is everything. Who puts art in a wet room!? Every room is better than the next. It’s hard to choose a favorite!

The landing at the top of the stairs has two different spots to sit and both, are equally charming. There are extra storage cabinets here too. The cabinet guy made a mistake and built the cabinets too short. But it turned out to be a happy accident when millwork was added above them turning ordinary cabinets into an extraordinary statement wall. So don’t get discouraged when things don’t turn out. Just a little thought makes them even better!

The wallpaper is carried throughout this landing and in the stairwell. It adds so much warmth and dimension!

UPSTAIRS

The landing at the top of the stairs has two different spots to sit and both, are equally charming. There are extra storage cabinets here too. The cabinet guy made a mistake and built the cabinets too short. But it turned out to be a happy accident when millwork was added above them turning ordinary cabinets into an extraordinary statement wall. So don’t get discouraged when things don’t turn out. Just a little thought makes them even better!

The wallpaper is carried throughout this landing and in the stairwell. It adds so much warmth and dimension!

BOYS ROOM

Each of Stephanie’s boy’s rooms were custom-made for them. They’re not themed but they do have touches of what the boys love. Well-placed and curated items with historical and Americana feel for one and something of sports and golf for the other. The buffalo head was just an added bonus that Stephanie found and couldn’t get out of her mind until she brought it home!

The bathroom walls are covered in nautical pieces of art! Another collection that added the off-the-charts, out-of-the-box look Stephanie is so great at creating!
