Bible Verses to Bless Your Home – New Builds or Renovations

We’ve been renovating our 1960’s ranch for the last four months. As the drywall came down and the new walls were framed, it was a perfect opportunity to mark our home in a special way. This home is already so significant to us and writing our favorite verses on the framing will be something we never forget. His Word is now forever written in our home. Deuteronomy says to inscribe God’s commandments on the doorposts of your home (Deut 6:4-9) and we did just that! Below I’ve listed some of our favorites for you to bless your home whether you’re building new or renovating.

ENTRY

You will be blessed when you go in and blessed when you go out. Deut 28:6

For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; Psalm 91:11

But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. – Joshua 24:15

KITCHEN

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing so some people have entertained angels without knowing it. Hebrews 13:2

They broke bread together and ate together with glad and sincere hearts. Acts 2:46

Give us this day our daily bread   Matthew 6:11

BEDROOM

You will be blessed when you go in and blessed when you go out. Deut 28:6

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

We love because He first loved us 1 John 4:19

LIVING ROOM

Through wisdom, a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches. Proverb 24:3-4

For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. Hebrews 3:4

Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. Matthew 7:24-25

He will once again fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. Job 8:21

I have indeed built a magnificent temple for you, a place for you to dwell forever. 1 King 8:13

This project has been a labor of love as we’ve lived in our little fixer upper for a year before demo began and we look forward to what He has for us in the next season of this house. I’d love to hear your favorite verses in the comments below.

  1. I tore out the drywall in my bathroom to replace the tile in the tub surround. In the Wall I found a note my husband had written at least 20 years ago. It wasn’t a scripture but it took my breath away. My husband died in a boating accident in 2006. It’s like he was sending me a little love note from heaven.

  2. thank you so much for posting this. I’m building a home and will use many of these verses. I’m also putting 4 Bibles in concrete, one in each corner of the home so my home will literally be built on God’s word. Blessings to you and your family. Jim
