Farmhouse Living Storefront Tour

It wasn't always my dream to open a storefront, but that quickly changed after God put a crazy love for the city of Rowlett on the hearts of my mom and I in February 2015. We were walking around Main Street and knew we wanted to be a part of the growth that was about to happen. At the time there was only one restaurant (El Centro) and one sweet, little boutique (Girlfriends). I'm so excited to share our storefront space with you. You can see before and afters of our space, along with photos of our favorite store displays so far.

Minimalist Christmas Decor

It's so fun to see the tree stuffed to the brim with ornaments and lights everywhere. The problem is it’s very time consuming, you need extra space for all the Christmas fluff and then when you strip your house after the holidays it looks bare. All this to say, my motto this year is less is more.

Meet the Maker: Chicken Scratch Lettering

As we get closer to the opening of the storefront, I've been really thinking about how important my makers and creators are who supply so many products and unique pieces to the store. They each have amazing stories on how they began their craft and why they love creating these products so much. Melanie is the face behind Chicken Scratch Lettering and she is such a blessing to know. She's so talented (in a million different ways), but especially in modern calligraphy.

Dog Days of Summer Tablescape

We've shared time and time again that hosting and gathering is something we are so passionate about. When we began brainstorming for tablescapes we had trouble sticking to just one, so below you'll see our two favorites: one with bright pops of color and the other more neutral and classic. You'll love these tablescapes

Farmhouse Minimalism

Recently, I read a blog from Rachel at Nourishing Minimalism. The title of her page says it all. Many times when people come into my home they look around to take in the space and comment that they wish they had a home like this, they tell us how beautiful our home is or share how it makes them feel. When they ask me if I’ll help them with their space, I’m always happy to do that. But one of the first secrets I share with friends or clients is the reason they love my home is its simplicity. Walk into a space that is open and light with a few well appointed touches and you feel good. That’s my secret sauce.

DIY Farmhouse Coffee Bar

It’s no secret that we're coffee lovers at Farmhouse Living. I mean when we were searching for coffee mugs to sell in the store we chose the BIGGEST ones we could find. When Lucy, the team photographer, told me she wanted to set up a coffee bar in the kitchen of her new home I was a huge fan of the idea.
